Every team has a utility player who gets little recognition or glory but at the end of the day is instrumental to the team. Think Mark Lemke of the Brave’s Pennant-winning days or Mike Scott from the current Atlanta Hawks. Every day they show up, do their job, get it done and come back the next day and start all over again. No glory but everyone counts on them.

That’s the same with the Toyota Camry. It is an incredibly reliable car that suits a family or a couple who wants a reasonably priced car that delivers — every time. Frankly, isn’t that what we all deep down want?

And, the answer is YES! The Camry, year after year, is at the top of the list of best selling cars and 2015 shouldn’t be an exception. The Camry isn’t a superstar home-run champion but we’ll take a solid double hitter every time. In a fickle car market, the Camry stands out for its efficiency, safety, mileage, price and reliability. Every year. MU5c76e24.html

AutoAcademics may have officially crossed over to the technology side of journalism.  Not because we're techies (even though some of us are), but because of cars, themselves.  What many fail to realize, is that automakers are now as invested in software and technology as companies such as Apple and Microsoft when it comes to the products that they create.

Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA) named the Subaru Outback as 2015 Best Family Car at its third-annual Family Car Challenge at Lake Lanier Islands Resort near Atlanta. The versatile and attractive Outback earned the highest overall score among 19 vehicles competing.

Each family-friendly vehicle also competed for awards in one of five categories: Value, Green, Tech, 3-Row and Luxury. The overall win by the Outback opened up the highly competitive Value category win to the runner-up, the sporty Mazda CX-5. The efficient yet capable Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel earned the Best Green Family Car award, while the Mazda6 retained its Tech category dominance established in last year's competition. Best 3-Row Family Car honors went to the spacious and comfortable Toyota Sienna. Finally, the high-performing Porsche Macan Turbo was named Best Luxury Family Car.
